Store settings: set your identity once, see it everywhere
Store settings at `/dashboard/settings` are the identity layer of your store: its name and URL, its logo and brand colors, its social links, its currency, its chatbot's personality, and which events are worth an email to you. Set them once and they propagate everywhere — themes, transactional emails, and invoices all draw from the same branding source, so a logo change updates the whole store, not one corner of it. ## Set the store name and slug 1. Open **Settings** → **Store**. The **store name** appears in the dashboard, on the storefront header, in emails, and on invoices. 2. The **slug** sets your storefront address: a slug of `safa-clothing` serves the store at `/safa-clothing`. Choose it with care — it is the URL you will print, post, and advertise. Change it later and old links stop resolving, so pick the one you want to live with. ## Upload your logo and brand identity 1. In **Brand identity**, upload your **logo**. Uploads are hosted through Cloudinary, which serves the right size and format to each surface automatically. 2. Set your **brand colors**. These are the colors themes use for buttons, accents, and highlights, and they carry into emails and invoices. 3. Save and open the storefront — the header, footer, and checkout reflect the new branding immediately. ## Add social links Enter your **social profiles** — Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, and the rest. Themes render them as icons in the footer (and some themes in the header), so the links stay current everywhere the theme draws them. A profile you leave blank simply does not render an icon; there is nothing to remove later. ## Choose your currency Pick the store's display **currency** from the currency list. Product prices, cart totals, quotes, and invoices all present in that currency. If you sell across borders, currency display can be extended through the platform's currency features on plans that include multi-currency. ## Configure the chatbot's personality The **chatbot** section of settings is where the storefront assistant gets its character: - **Name** — what customers see in the chat header - **Color** — the widget's accent, matched to your brand colors - **Icon** — the launcher's appearance on the storefront - **Welcome message** — the first line customers read when the chat opens Save and the changes go live on the storefront at once. What the chatbot *knows* is separate — it answers from your products, FAQs, and docs — but name, color, and welcome message are what make it feel like your shop rather than a widget. ## Choose your notifications Under **Notifications**, select which events trigger an email to you: new orders, low stock, new reviews, new support tickets, and similar. The dashboard notifications feed exists regardless; emails are the layer you tune. A store doing steady volume usually wants order and ticket emails on, review emails digested weekly, and low-stock emails only for priority products. ## How branding flows through the platform This is the payoff for setting things properly once: 1. **Themes** read your logo, colors, and social links from settings — every theme, current or future, renders your identity without per-theme configuration. 2. **Emails** — order confirmations, receipts, quote emails, campaign footers — carry the same logo and brand colors. 3. **Invoices** render with the same identity, so a customer who sees the invoice after delivery sees the same brand as the checkout. One source of truth means no drift: change the logo once and every surface follows. ## What happens next Fill in the About page and shipping page links the settings surface on the storefront, then place a test order and read the confirmation email as a customer would — that email is the fastest audit of your branding in the wild. ## FAQ **Can I change the slug after launch?** Technically yes, but it breaks every existing link to your storefront. If you must, update the slug and re-point any printed or posted URLs the same day. **Does the logo need a specific format or size?** A square or horizontal logo in PNG or SVG works best; Cloudinary handles resizing for each surface, but clean source files still produce the crispest headers and invoices. **Where do I edit what the chatbot says, not just what it looks like?** Its knowledge comes from your FAQs, docs, and product data, and its welcome message from these settings — so keep both places current and the chatbot stays accurate.
