Dashboard overview: your morning command center

The dashboard home is the first screen you land on after signing in, and it is built to answer one question fast: how is my store doing right now? Everything on it is computed from your live orders, products, and customers, so what you see at 8 a.m. is the real state of the business, not yesterday's cached report. ## What's on the home screen The page opens with a greeting and the date, plus two buttons you will use constantly: **View store** (opens your live storefront at /<storeSlug>) and **New product**. Below that sit four **KPI cards**, each with a 14-day sparkline and a trend badge: 1. **Today's revenue** — total of all orders placed today, compared with yesterday. 2. **Today's orders** — order count for today, also compared with yesterday. 3. **Total customers** — everyone in your customer list, with growth measured against the previous 7 days. 4. **Avg. order value** — revenue divided by orders over the last 14 days, compared with the 14 days before that. Trend badges only appear when there is a real baseline to compare against. A brand-new store shows plain numbers instead of a made-up percentage. Further down you get: 1. A **30-day revenue chart** — daily revenue as a gradient area chart. 2. **Recent orders** — the six latest orders with number, amount, customer, status, and how long ago they were placed. 3. **Low stock alerts** — active products with fewer than 10 units left in inventory. This panel exists so you restock before an item sells out. 4. **Quick actions** — tiles for **Add product**, **Discount**, **Theme**, **Blog post**, and **Customers**. ## A ten-minute morning routine Treat the dashboard as your checklist. In order: 1. Check **Today's revenue** and **Today's orders** against the trend badges. A dip against yesterday is a prompt to look closer; a spike is a prompt to check stock. 2. Scan the **low stock** panel. Anything under 10 units deserves a restock decision today — the alert deliberately appears while you still have a selling window. 3. Open **Recent orders** and act on anything still **pending** or **paid** but unfulfilled. Click an order to open it, or go to **Orders** in the sidebar for the full inbox. 4. Click the **bell icon** in the top bar. Unread notifications (new orders, new reviews, agent activity) carry a live count badge. Clear what you have handled. 5. Hit **View store** once a day. You catch broken images, stale banners, and slow pages faster than any report will tell you. ## Notifications and mobile The **bell** in the top bar collects platform notifications — order events, moderation items, and alerts. Clicking an entry takes you to the relevant screen; you can mark items read so the badge reflects only what is genuinely new. On a phone the dashboard becomes a native-app-style experience: the four most-used areas sit in a **bottom navigation bar**, and the full menu slides in from the left. KPI cards, the chart, and order rows reflow to a single column, so the same morning routine works from your mobile lock screen. ## What happens next Nothing on this page requires saving or configuration — it renders from your data the moment you arrive. Your job is to turn what it shows into three decisions each morning: what to restock, what to fulfill, and what to promote. ## Tips 1. Use the **quick action** tiles as muscle memory: they deep-link straight into the editor screens, skipping the sidebar. 2. The activity timeline next to the revenue chart is derived from your most recent orders — it doubles as a "what happened while I was away" feed. 3. If today's numbers look wrong, remember the dashboard counts orders by their placement date. Orders imported from marketplaces count on the day they were pulled in. ## FAQ **Why is the trend badge missing on a KPI card?** The badge is hidden when the comparison period has no data — for example, your first day of trading. It appears once there is a genuine baseline. **Why is the revenue chart a flat line?** The chart plots real daily revenue only. It never invents data, so an empty store renders a zero baseline until orders arrive. **Can I rearrange the KPI cards?** The card set is fixed (revenue, orders, customers, average order value) so every screen you share with a partner or accountant looks the same. Deeper breakdowns live in **Analytics**.
