Sales Cloud: run your pipeline, quotes, and forecast from one command center

Sales Cloud turns selling into a repeatable process instead of a spreadsheet habit. It wraps your opportunities, quotes, follow-up sequences, targets, forecast, and commissions into one workspace at `/dashboard/sales`, and it keeps the numbers honest by tying everything to real paid orders. If you sell to repeat buyers, handle custom requests, or invoice after a conversation, this is the area of the dashboard you will live in. ## Find your way around Open **Sales** in the dashboard sidebar. The **Command Center** is the landing page: a KPI row with pipeline value, weighted forecast, win rate, and recent activity, so you can see the state of the business in ten seconds. Everything else hangs off it: - **Opportunities** — the pipeline board - **Quotes** — proposals you send to customers - **Sequences** — follow-up cadences - **Targets** — quotas per rep or per store - **Forecast** — weighted revenue by time bucket - **Commissions** — rules, accruals, and statements - **Settings** — stages, probabilities, loss reasons, quote numbering ## Work the pipeline 1. Go to **Sales** → **Opportunities**. The pipeline is a kanban board with one column per stage. 2. Click **New Opportunity** and fill in the name, contact or customer, value, currency, expected close date, source, and next action. The source field is first-party — it records where the deal came from. 3. Drag cards between stages as deals move. Each stage has a probability you set in **Sales Settings**, and every card shows its weighted value (value × stage probability) alongside the raw amount. 4. When a linked order gets paid, the opportunity moves to **Won** automatically. You never have to remember to close it. 5. To close a deal as lost, you must choose a **loss reason** — the dialog stays blocked until you pick one. Loss reasons (price, timing, competitor, went silent, and your own custom list) are edited in **Sales Settings**. This small requirement is what makes your win/loss reports worth reading later. ## Send a quote and get it accepted online 1. Open **Quotes** → **New Quote**. Pick the customer, then add line items: product, quantity, unit price, and any discount. Totals calculate as you type. 2. Quote numbers follow your numbering scheme, so a fresh quote looks like `Q2026-0001`. You control the prefix and the default terms and conditions in **Sales Settings**. 3. Click **Send**. The quote goes out through the platform mailer with your sender identity, and the send is logged on the customer's timeline. 4. The email contains a public acceptance link shaped like `/q/<token>`. The customer opens it in a clean, readable page — no account, no login — reviews the line items, and clicks accept or decline. 5. When the quote is accepted, BirrStore creates a **draft order** immediately. You review and confirm it under **Orders**, and the linked opportunity flips to Won without extra clicks. ## Follow up with sequences Sequences at `/dashboard/sales/sequences` are multi-step cadences of emails and tasks. 1. Create a sequence, for example: Day 0 intro email, Day 3 call task, Day 5 follow-up email. 2. Enroll contacts individually or enroll an entire CRM segment with one action. 3. Turn on **stop on reply** or **stop on order** so nobody keeps getting chased after they respond or buy. 4. Each enrollment has its own progress record, and the sequence page shows performance per cadence — useful for pruning steps nobody benefits from. ## Set targets and read the forecast Targets live under **Sales** → **Targets**: assign a rep name, a period, a metric (revenue or units), and an amount. The Command Center compares actuals against target and raises pace alerts before the period is lost. The forecast at `/dashboard/sales/forecast` is plain math, not a guess: weighted value = opportunity value × stage probability, summed per close-date bucket — this week, this month, this quarter. You also get best-case, commit, and worst-case views, and a snapshot is taken daily so you can watch how the quarter actually developed. ## Pay commissions without a calculator Under **Commissions**, define rules — a percentage of paid order value or a flat amount per unit, optionally scoped to a rep. Run the monthly accrual and BirrStore produces statements you can hand to whoever does payouts. Only paid orders feed accrual, so refunds and unpaid invoices never inflate anyone's commission. ## Tips - Keep stage probabilities honest. If you mark "Proposal sent" at 60% but half those deals die, your forecast will flatter you. - Review loss reasons monthly. "Price" appearing three times in a row is a pricing conversation you should have. - Treat the draft order from an accepted quote as a checklist, not a formality — confirm stock before you confirm the order. ## FAQ **Does accepting a quote automatically charge the customer?** No. Acceptance creates a draft order. You confirm it and take payment through your normal checkout or invoice flow. **Can I change the stages?** Yes. **Sales Settings** has a stages editor where you rename stages, set probabilities, and add or remove columns. **How does Sales Cloud stay in sync with the CRM?** Quotes sent and accepted, sequence steps, and stage changes all write into the contact's CRM activity timeline, so sales activity and customer history are the same story.
